Truck Mixer Pump
There are two main types of concrete pumps, a ground line pump and a boom pump, both of which are available within our concrete pumping in Halifax service. So what can be expected from each of the two concrete pumps?
Ground line Pump
A ground line pump is a hydraulic pump that is mounted onto a truck. As it states in the name, a ground line pump will use various pipes along the ground which can run up and down different levels and into buildings. Concrete is pumped from the truck through the pipes to the site location at precision and speed, transferring concrete at around 1m3 per minute. This type of pump is perfect for smaller-scale projects and areas that have difficult accessibility.
Boom Pump
Boom pumps are a step up from ground line pumps and are the perfect solution for areas where even a ground line pump won’t be able to access it. A boom pump will be able to effectively deliver concrete to construction projects that contain very high levelled grounds, such as high rise buildings and residential flats. A boom pump uses a hydraulic arm that elevates from the truck to a high level to pour concrete to a specific location.
What are the advantages of using a concrete pump?
- Concrete pumps can deliver concrete at much lower costs than traditional methods and they can access sites where trucks are not able to
- Enhanced quality control of concrete used at your site
- Reduces scheduling logistics
- In many various ways, the introduction of concrete pumping has changed the way modern concrete construction is designed and built
- Labour savings of up to 50% compared to truck delivery
